Natür Grossvätu Raclette
Welcome to the Jumi-verse of raclette cheese, made by Jumi in the region of Bern, Switzerland. The Natur Grossvatu is our “plain” version, but there’s nothing plain about it! Grossvatu, meaning “grandfather” in Bernese dialect, is their more aged version of their natural raclette flavor and we’ve selected it for it’s perfect balance and clean, sublime flavor when its melted. This is great introduction to raclette and works in a variety of cooking and melting applications!
Raclettes are to be melted using a specialized raclette machine. If you don’t have one of those (most don’t), cut your cheese into slabs and put them in a skillet under a screaming hot broiler, then pour over whatever you want melted cheese on. Similarly, feel free to experiment with subbing raclette in for any recipe that calls for melted cheese (grilled cheeses, gratins, french onion soup, etc etc.)
